A SINNER LIKE ME
Sung By Dan Parks
I was once far away from the Savior,
And as vile as a sinner could be;
I wonder'd if Christ the Redeemer,
Would save a poor sinner like me.
I wonder'd, on in the darkness
Not a ray of the light could I see,
And when hope filled my heart with sadness
There's no hope for a sinner like me.
But when in that dark lonely hour,
A voice whispered kindly to me,
Saying Christ the Redeemer hath power,
To save, even sinners like me.
I looked and the Lord was the Savior,
Who was speaking so kindly to me,
But I cried, I'm the chief of all sinners,
Can you save a poor sinner like me.
I've been fully trusting in Jesus
And, Oh, what a thrill came to me,
My heart was filled with his praises
He saved a poor sinner like me!
Now on thru life's journey I'm walking
For his light now was shinning on me;
And now unto others I'm telling
How he saved a poor sinner like me.
And when life's journey is over,
And I, the dear Savior shall see;
I'll praise him forever and ever,
He saved a poor sinner like me.
