In our father we are dead, Fallen in our fallen head;
But our case we now may plead, In the woman's CONQUERING SEED. (repeat).
Floods of judgment on us roll, Deadly, threatening to the soul;
But, by grace, we may embark, Jesus Christ, the HEAVENLY ARK.
Dying from the Serpent's bite, In despair, no hope in sight;
But the gospel interrupts, "See the SON is LIFTED UP."
Jesus, LAMB OF GOD that's slain, Cleanse our hearts from every stain;
Jesus, SABBATH DAY most blest, Let us come to thee for rest.
