1. Jehovah God looked down from heav'n, To see if there could be;
One of our race who understands, Who seeks Him righteously.
CHOROUS:
There is no hope within ourselves, No righteousness to see;
But with our Savior, Jesus Christ, Our God, the Judge, is pleased.
2. God saw that we had turned aside, Corrupt we'd all become;
One good, Jehovah could not find, None good, not even one!
3. So God's own Son came down to earth, Took on the form of man;
Became obedient unto death, And in our place did stand.
4. As God looked down on Christ, His Son, He said, "I am well pleased!"
By Him all righteousness is done, He life, for us, has seized.
