THE VOICE & WAY OF GRACE

When Adam fell and all in him,
And sin had entered all our race;
Twas sovereign mercy broke the still,
A voice was heard to speak in grace.
Twas God Himself our parents heard,
There walking in that garden place;
He sought them where they hid in shame,
To show the way He saves by grace.
“Where art thou?” was His question clear,
Though more He knew than they their place;
And with the skins of victims slain,
He covered them with righteous grace.
And in a picture He did show,
The way a fallen sinner’s saved.
The sacrifice of Christ the Lord,
Alone can put our sins away.
So let us not be found this day,
In hiding from His gospel grace.
He seeks, He saves, in Christ the Son,
The ones He chose from Adam’s race.
Who are they you may want to ask,
For whom did He pay such a price?
Those who their hiding places leave;
And run for refuge to God’s Christ!
